Seattle Trip

I had an engagement session in Seattle, so we turned it into a family vacation! The girls were amazingly good through the session. For 4 hours they played and ate and ran around downtown Seattle with Adam, while I photographed my clients. After the session we all went to a late lunch together. After that, we PLAYED!!!!!!! There is so much to do at the Seattle Center. The girls rode on the rides in the kids area, danced to the outdoor music and ate lots of junk food! It was a fabulous day!

Tradition is, that you run in and touch the dome when the water turns off. You never know when it will turn back on again, though, so you'd better be quick. The girls really wanted to touch it, but were also very nervous about it. I love it that they trust their daddy so much. Can you tell that Kate was the more hesitant one about this adventure? :)

Run away!!!!!

Way to go team Blue!

Inside here is all sorts of fun....and food!

Haylee started with the cotton candy....

...and then went straight on to the caramel corn. :) Bottomless pit--that's my girl!

After some snacks, they danced...

...and danced....

...and then broke into some break dancing....

They were only willing to let me take a couple of posed pictures--which is fine with me. I'm happy with whatever I can get depending on their moods. :)

At the very end of the day we went on what we now call "the quacker ride." It's a tour of downtown Seattle, including a land and water tour. Very fun! The girls liked the souvenir quackers the best.

Here are just a few pictures from the carnival style rides for the kids and families.

It was a fabulous day!

I'm baaaaack......

It is March 12th 2010. I haven't blogged in 8 months. The last time I posted anything to my blog was right before my computer crashed in the middle of wedding season. The rest is history. I'm finally to the point that I feel like I can work on some of my own photos without guilt. Yay!!!!! So, in an effort to keep our adventures in chronological order for the book I'll be making of our blog, I'm going to post this as if it is still June 2009. Who would know otherwise 10 years from now? Unless they read the text, of course. ;)

I can't think of a better way to start off my dry spell from blogging than with pictures of Kate in her cage. I found the poor child this way. If only she had parents who cared for her, and would provide a home with a bed for her....oh WAIT!!! She prefers the adventures found in a box with a bowl of food on the ground. She was being a puppy, "Just like Gram's puppies, mom. I don't need a spoon!" Who am I to ruin her games? Carry on little puppy girl!

Deedsie and I took the kids to Lithia Park for some play time. Cade was such a big, strong, cousin climbing to the top of the climbing structure. Maybe this next summer the girls will be able to keep up?

We had a crazy rainstorm in the middle of June. It was coming down really hard. It was the best kind of rainstorm, too. It was really warm outside and it had been dry for quite a while, so the air had that wet, dusty smell. I love that smell so much! The girls were a little nervous about taking their umbrellas out into the heavy rain--it was coming down that hard! Adam, being the wonderful dad that he is, braved the storm with them while I got some video and pictures.

Haircuts by Grammy! So cute! Thanks Gram!

One of the puppies from Gram's house. Wherever the puppies were...that's where we would find Kate. Such a lover of creatures. The puppy looks a little distressed, I think. But, who could really argue with that much love!?

Family Fun!

It was sooooooooooooo much fun to have Meg and Aaron and Linnie and Jake with their kids, come for a visit! We missed Geoff, Lonnie and Elise, but we're looking forward to a good visit with them in a couple weeks. Meg and Aaron are officially in South Africa now having the time of their lives! I'm so happy for your guys. Thanks for giving us a reason to get together!

Here we are after reaching our "summit" on a hike up Roxyanne.

On our way back down...

Our girls have been begging to go camping again, so we decided to take them "camping" at Gram and Papa's house! It's so nice that they still think this is camping. In a year or two we won't be able to get away with this anymore! :)

Kate in her 80's punk rocker outfit. She insisted that she was a princess--NOT Cindy Lauper.

Collecting Rocks in her princess dress....that's so Kate!

Sweet little Taylor May! I sure love this girl! I called her Bob, or Fred, or George the entire trip and she would look at me with a big grin and say "nooooooo....I'm Taylor May!!!!"

Linnie is such a great mom and Gav is a DOLL!

Love that little two toothed grin!

We never had to wonder where Kate was the entire week. She was wherever the puppies were. Without fail we would find her with the puppies!

Little Haylee Bug...such a crack up! This grass was sooo cool, she just had to show it to me.

Ava Jane is a true princess. She is so adorable! My girls always ask me to make their hair look like Ava Jane's hair. Sorry girls...

We brought our patio fire pit down for the week. It was so much fun to make smores every night and just hang out in the backyard. We had perfect weather...not too hot, but warm enough to play outside in the little pool during the day and hang out on the porch each evening.

Cader is such a great example to his younger cousins! He plays with them and teaches them how to do things. What a kid! He was an expert marshmallow roaster!

At Gram's house the kids get ice cream at all different hours of the day! This time was especially cool because Aunt Deedsie taught us all how to make ice cream in a bag. Gram and I even made some with Soy milk. It was actually really good!
